The Fab Four fest will have even more grunt, thanks to two days of celebrating classic cars. Naturally, they will include Volkswagen Beetles.
The festival is in its fifth year and events are held in Port Macquarie, Laurieton and Wauchope to share the ‘love, love, love’ of all things Ringo, Paul, John and George.
On Saturday February 11 festival visitors will enjoy the first Volkswagen Beetle Car Show. “Beetle Mania” category will see special trophies awarded to Beetles, Kombis and other VW makes and models.
Even if you aren’t a member of a car or motorcycle club, dust off your beauty and let it shine alongside its fellow treasures.

Prizes and trophies will be awarded on Saturday in the “Open Class” categories. Classic car owners can showcase their collection of Fords, Holdens, Mustangs and European and Japanese classics.
Harleys and other makes of classic bikes are also welcome to join in the fun.
Sunday February 12 will see prizes and trophies awarded in the “British Invasion” category with Minis, Morgans, Jaguars, MG, Rover, Morris and all things British eligible. Hot Rods will also be on display with trophies sure to be hotly contested.
“Even if you aren’t a member of a car or motorcycle club, dust off your beauty and let it shine alongside its fellow treasures,” said festival spokesman Neil Porter.
“Festival goers have shown in previous years that they love the classic car show and turn up in droves to witness these magnificent cars that many of them grew up driving.”
This year’s festival gets underway with the now famous Beatles Trivia night at Wauchope’s Bago Tavern on Thursday February 9 at 6.30pm.
On Friday February 10 Beatle Magic, will entertain at the Laurieton United Services Club.
Saturday February 11 sees Beatle Magic return to Port Panthers and this year local DJ Pork Pie will provide the dancers with even more great music for them to rock the night away.
Festival organisers advise that the Roses Vineyard Beatles Champagne breakfast looks set to be another sell out, so go to the festival website (www.portmacquariebeatlesfestival.com.au) to book your tickets to avoid disappointment.
In the words of Lennon and McCartney, “Roll up, Rollup for the Magical Mystery Tour” and follow “the Long and Winding Road” for a fantastic four days of “Love, Love, Love”.
