Quasar Constructions project manager Serge Younan and a Kmart spokesperson confirmed that construction team have almost completed the inside of the building.
The fit out of the store will be completed by the end of the month, with crews on schedule. It means an opening time of around April, 2017, is still expected.
“Roadworks continue on Walters Street, which are 90% complete,” Mr Younan said.
“It has worked well with residents. We look to lay asphalt in mid to late February in the car park.
“All the work inside the Kmart store is complete, and it’s only the outside work that will be aimed to be finished by Easter, weather permitting.”
A Kmart spokesperson said that just under 200 new team members have been employed. Inductions have finished for those staff members, and training will be starting this today (January 27) at their Forster store.
