Sensei Bob Thomson says it will be exciting.
“We look forward to June in particular when two of our senior students, Kelly Scott and Russell Evans sit for their 1st Dan black belt,” he said.
Kelly and Russell will undergo a rigorous all day session, where they show their knowledge of our required customs, demonstrate over fifteen katas and complete a 50 man kumite consisting of 50 one minute sparring sessions against higher graded black belt instructors.
Bob says it will be a culmination of up to five years of dedication and hard work and they will need the encouragement and support of their fellow karate ka.
“It goes to show what you can achieve with regular practice and the guidance of our instructors. Everyone is welcome to come along to our classes regardless of your fitness level, as we cater to all ages and abilities,” he said.
“We like to keep the dojo family orientated and a mix of Mums, Dads and kids can train together. Whilst we adhere to traditional rules within the Dojo, we also have a bit of fun,” he added.
Classes are held each Tuesday night, 6 pm – 7 pm, junior classes where parents are welcome to join in the training and seniors run from 7 pm – 8 pm, Scouts Hall, Tallowood Rd, Wauchope, under instruction of Senseis Bob and Robbie Thomson.
