Freemasons in Wauchope are helping the girl guides pay the rent at the Rotary Hall where they meet every week.

The Lodge Star of Wauchope raised $1,000 which was matched by the charity’s Masonicare and Glen Leonard presented a cheque for $2,000 to the guides last week.
Wauchope Guide Leader, Belinda Schmitzer says the movement enables girls and young women to grow into confident, self-respecting, responsible community members.
“We have fun and play games,” she said.
The Girl Guides movement was formed in 1910 in the UK and has ten million members worldwide.There are 30,000 Girl Guides in Australia.
Wauchope’s guides meet every Wednesday at the Rotary Hall. Junior Guides, aged five to 10 years old, meet from 4.30pm to 6pm and Girl Guides, aged 10 to 14 years old, meet from 6pm to 8pm.
On behalf of all the guides, 12-year-old Makayla Steele thanked the Masonic Lodge for the cheque and presented them with a certificate of gratitude.
