The sub-branch annual general meeting was held on February 16 at Wauchope RSL club and was well-attended.
Annual reports were presented by all the executive members and a detailed financial report was given by the Sub-branch auditor, which indicated that all financial matters were correct and conducted in accordance with standard regulations.
All positions were declared vacant and as a result, the following people were elected to manage the Wauchope RSL Sub Branch for the next three years:
- President Des Hancock
- Vice Presidents Mick Brownlow and Greg Cavanagh
- Secretary Margaret Wallis
- Treasurer Jane Flood
- Welfare Officer Bill Wagner
- Pensions Officer Ray Knapp.
All other Committee positions were filled.
The new management team will initially be working on organising activities and badge sellers for Anzac Day on Tuesday April 25.
“Ex-service non-members are invited to join your local Sub-branch and share your company and stories with other people who have worn the uniform,” said Greg Cavanagh.
Letitia Fitzpatrick
Worked as a journalist and assistant producer for BBC news and current affairs in the UK, Ulster Television, Q Radio and the Irish News in Northern Ireland. Moved to Australia and joined Fairfax Media in 2016. Won a Rotary Paul Harris Fellowship award in 2018 for reporting the Pappinbarra bushfires and the subsequent Rotary appeal which raised $30,000.
