CHEAPER GREEN SLIPS IN 2017

NSW motorists are set to benefit from a fairer and more affordable CTP Green Slip Scheme.

The changes will address problems with the current CTP scheme such as premium unaffordability, delays in payment of benefits to people injured on NSW roads, and reducing fraudulent and exaggerated claims that are driving up premiums.

State-wide average premiums will drop from $650 to $528.

NSW motorists will shave around $120 off their Green Slip under the new scheme.

HOUSING FUND TO DELIVER THOUSANDS OF HOMES

The Government has taken a major step towards delivering thousands of additional homes for vulnerable people across the State, with contracts awarded for the first phase of the Social and Affordable Housing Fund.

Five parties have received contracts to deliver homes and services in the fund’s first phase.

We made an election commitment to provide more social and affordable housing and we are delivering.

The successful parties, who will provide quality dwellings close to infrastructure and tailored support services, are:

·         BaptistCare NSW & ACT – 375 homes for older people and 125 homes for single parent families

·         Compass Housing Services Co Ltd – 600 homes for tenants that are close to support services and infrastructure

·         SGCH Sustainability Limited – 300 homes for tenants with tailored support coordination services

·         St Vincent de Paul Housing – 500 homes to general and older tenants;

·         Uniting – 300 homes for people aged over 55 without children at home.

The majority of the 2,200 homes will be built on land contributed to the State by non-government organisations.

The fund was set-up with $1.1 billion in seed capital from the NSW Government that will provide a stable income stream for up to 25 years.
