THE clean up begins on Monday across the Hastings after the region copped 279mm of rain this week.
Over the weekend, some parts of the region west of Wauchope received heavy dumps of rain, some areas lashed with 150mm in under 24 hours.
The Hastings River is expected to peak at Settlement Point Sunday night (March 19) at 1.2m with residents on the North Shore, Settlement Point Road, Hibbard Drive and Rawdon Island preparing for minor flood inundation.
There is already plenty of debris flowing down river interrupting ferry services at Port Macquarie and washing ashore on Town Beach.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council will assess the damage and clean-up on Monday with Town Beach, Shelley Beach and Lighthouse severely impacted by erosion.
The State Emergency Service was kept busy attending to a large tree which fell on the driveway of a property at Lighthouse Beach as well as assisting with debris removal.
More than 3500 residents were without power at Lake Cathie-Bonny Hills Sunday after a tree fell on powerlines. North Shore residents were also without power for several hours.
Bains Bridge, Rocks Ferry Reserve and the Oxley highway at Long Flat were impacted by flooding.
The Bureau has predicted further rain this week with heavy falls on Thursday and Friday of up to 30mm.
