The events are in Port Macquarie and Laurieton.
Band spokesperson Leanne Howlett said this year’s event is the fourth year the concerts have been held.
“The band enjoys raising funds for the Red Cross,” she said.
“Each of the concerts will feature the band along with Sing Australia. The concert will include some old favourites but there will certainly be a variety performed at both events.”
The two concerts are on Sunday March 26 at the Port Macquarie Uniting Church from 2pm, and on Sunday April 2 at the Laurieton United Services Club with a 3.30pm start.
Mrs Howlett said Sing Australia would perform a number of great songs at the concerts.
“They have a great array of music to perform, including Ghost Riders In The Sky – a rollicking cowboy song; The Rose; If I Can Help Somebody, Chariot’s Comin’ and Sinner Man while the concert band would perform the Michael Buble hit, Sway, You Raise Me Up, The Lord of the Dance and Nimrod.”
Mrs Howlett said the demise of Port Macquarie Red Cross had seen the Camden Haven branch step up and assist with raffle ticket selling at both concerts.
“March is the Red Cross month so with the help of Sing Australia, the band is putting on these concerts to raise much needed funds for the local Red Cross organisations,” Mrs Howlett said.
Regional manager Northern NSW Janelle Cazaubon said Australian Red Cross is grateful to the Port Macquarie Hastings band for putting on two fundraising concerts.
“Money raised will go towards Red Cross work in our communities,” she said.
“Through the dedication and support of our donors, members and army of volunteers, Red Cross provides essential services to the Australian community.
“Last year over 20,000 elderly and isolated people across Australia received a daily Telecross call to check on their welfare. Telecross volunteers across the Hastings District ensure calls are made 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year, providing peace of mind to those living alone, and their loved ones.
“Last year our local Emergency Services Teams partnered with the Rural Fire Service to check smoke detectors and help elderly isolated people develop an emergency plan.”
Entry is just $5 per concert with raffle tickets available for purchase. Afternoon tea is available at both concerts.
