Port Writers is hosting the March 24 to March 26 conference.
There will be 18 concurrent sessions in three adjacent rooms plus two joint discussions.
Authors will lead subjects ranging from widening the audience to mystery, memoirs, writing for children and the screen, poetry and publishing.
Port Macquarie-Hastings mayor Peter Besseling will open the conference.
The annual conference has been staged at Dorrigo, Coffs Harbour and Nambucca Heads.
Now it is Port Macquarie’s turn.
Port Writers president Wendy Haynes said staging the event in Port Macquarie will raise awareness in the area and allow more local writers to attend.
“It brings like-minded people together to share their experience and learn from each other,” she said.
“Writing can be quite a lonely occupation, so this is bringing people together and letting them know they are not alone in their journey.”
About 90 people have signed up for the conference.
Six books will be launched during the lunch breaks.
Those will be among the books available for sale during the weekend.
