The Australian Government’s country of origin labelling for food campaign, was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources, Barnaby Joyce and Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science, Senator Arthur Sinodinos on Sunday.

The new food labelling system will provide Australian consumers with the clarity they deserve, without imposing an excessive burden on businesses.
These labelling reforms came into effect from July 1, 2016 and a two-year transition period is now in place. Since the introduction many foods on Australian retail shelves have begun to include the familiar kangaroo in a triangle logo to show the food is made, produced or grown in Australia. Imported foods that undergo minor processing or packaging here cannot claim to be made here or carry the logo.

National Wastewater Drug Monitoring Program Report
The Coalition government provided the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) with a $3.6 million boost to detect ice hotspots, and collect data on drugs used in our communities, following a recommendation by the National Ice Taskforce.
The Coalition is investing almost $300 million to support actions resulting from the National Ice Action Strategy to improve treatment, after care, education, prevention and community engagement.
We are also tackling the supply of ice through increased international cooperation, enhanced intelligence sharing, better controls of precursor chemicals and greater efforts to prevent ice reaching our regional and remote communities.
