The Camden Haven’s premier festival is all about celebrating a gourmet lifestyle, savouring the food growth on our doorstep.
Adding heat to this year’s event will be Laurieton Fire and Rescue NSW with live demonstrations on how to deal with kitchen fires.
Plan your day to take in the Riverwalk markets from 8am-2pm and Slice of Haven from 10am-4pm. The Riverwalk markets will be held, as usual, on Bruce Porter Reserve and Slice of Haven will once again be held on the river foreshore end of Seymour Street.
The Camden Haven River shoreline from Bruce Porter to the LUSC boat ramp will be one long strip of stalls, entertainment, gourmet food and activities.
Wrap your tastebuds around fine food with influences from Africa, Thailand, India, Italy and France created using key, locally-produced ingredients. There’s street food, pizzas, seafood, sweet treats, beer, wine and coffee galore.
Local musicians including Roxferry, Nana Klumpp, Jake Davey and iChoonz will provide the soundtrack to the event. There will be rides, face painting and temporary tattoos for the children.
DID YOU KNOW?
This year marks the tenth Slice of Haven festival. The event is organised by a small team of volunteers.
The funding to stage the mammoth event each year is provided by generous local sponsors: Camden Haven Chamber of Commerce and Holiday Coast Credit Union, Laurieton United Services Club, Camden Haven Courier, HitFM, Ten, Focus, Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, Mayo Health eCare and Hastings Co-op.
The NSW Government has also supported the event via a grant which resulted in permanent electricity installed at the site.
For the last two years the organisers have invited visitors to make a donation on entry. This money has been donated, around $3,000 to date, to the community groups who assist volunteers with the set up, clean up and provide assistance to ensure the smooth-running of the festival.
The Slice of Haven has supported the following Camden Haven organisations thanks to generous visitor donations: SES, Surf Lifesaving Club, Hockey Club, and girl guides.

- TIPS
Share your photos via Instagram #Slice2017 #CamdenHaven. More tips via Slice of Haven’s Facebook page. The events will be held – rain or shine!
No BYO food or drink, and please leave your pets at home.
Lost children – Write a parent’s name and mobile number on your child’s arm, tell them to meet you “at the elephant” (a giant inflatable which can be seen from everywhere at Slice of Haven). A handy tip from the Camden Haven SES – take a photo of your child on your phone as you arrive at the festival, which could help if they get really lost.
