The Bago Maze: At Bago Vineyards, just a short drive from Wauchope, is the largest hedge maze in NSW and great entertainment. Be sure to pick up a bottle of Bago’s Red Boot to take home.
Billabong Zoo and Koala Park: A must for animal lovers. Here you can pat, feed, hold, or see over 80 species of animals. One resident, you won’t want to get too close to is Shrek the Crocodile.
Cowarra Dam: Tucked away in King Creek is an idyllic spot overlooking the expanse of water of the Cowarra Dam. Take the winding road through the forest to the picnic area with gas barbeques and under-cover seating.
Shopping: If you love to browse for something different you have come to the right place. Wauchope is a great place for boutique style shopping. Take a wander down the main street, be sure to call into The Department Store, Elements of Design and Circle of Friends. You will not go home empty handed.
Timbertown: Take a journey back in time to the colonial era of a saw miller’s village. Children and adults alike love riding on the steam trains, the horse and carriage and watching the bullock demonstration.
The Hastings River: Walk down Cameron Street and you’ll find the riverside boardwalk, turn right and you can follow the path all the way to Rocks Ferry.
State forests and national parks: Wauchope is surrounded by over 40,000 hectares of national parks and state forests. Enjoy nature at its finest and is a perfect place to go horse riding, 4W driving, or bushwalking.
