Wauchope swimmer Morgan Jean from Wauchope has been selected in the Swimming New South Wales 2017 Paralympic Development Squad, along with 17-year-old Aidan Yourell from Lismore.

They were selected because of their performances in the Australian Age and Multi Class Championships held in Brisbane in April of this year.
In these Multi Class Championships Aidan Yourell S10 had an amazing 5 2nd placings and one 1st. The first placing was in the 100 back 1.05.46 (his pet event) and the second placings 50 fly 27.68, 100 57.12 PB, 50 back 30.84, 50 free 26.35 PB and 100 fly 1.01.30 PB. He was also placed 4th in 400 free 4.36.22.
Morgan in S 14, after only coming into swimming after Swimming North Coast’s Multi Class Day last year, had five top ten placings out of 5 swims-- 5th in 50 free 30.26 PB and 50 fly 35.54, 7th 100 free 1.10.40 PB, 8th 50 breast 43.94 PB and 9th 100 breast 1.42.46.
The criteria for selection in this squad is to have achieved a)S1-S13 550 and above or b) S14 600 and above at a Long course State or Australian meet in this last season. These point scores are based on the swimmers world record for that classification.
