The Blues will be looking to amp up their footy after a few disappointing losses recently. Sitting just outside finals contention, the Blues need to get their season back on track heading into the second round.
It’s something coach Anthony Boyd has confidence in.
"We've been training really well as a unit, we just need to put a full 80 minutes together on the field" said Boyd.
The action will get underway at 11.30 with the ladies league tag followed by the under 18's, reserve grade and then the first grade to kick off at 3.15. The Blues are hoping for a big crowd to get out and cheer them on as they go to battle with the Mustangs.
Last weekends results saw first grade go down to Oldbar Pirates 36-10. The Blues had a dominant first half but couldn't turn opportunities into points which haunted their second half when the Pirates came out firing.
Special mention to Jackson Partridge and Josh Caruana backing up from the under 18's to make their first grade debut. The boys didn't take a backward step when they got their opportunity on the field.
Reserve grade had a solid 34 to 18 win over the Pirates. Co coach Bob Davison had a notable performance as he lead his side to victory. Front rower Max Carpenter also had a blinder for the Blues scoring a double.
The under 18's had a draw for the second week in a row. The sides couldn't be split at 10 all after the full time buzzer.
Once again the young Blues held the lead but let the opposition get themselves back into the game. Their defence has been solid however maybe taking a leaf out of first grades book turning opportunities into points has been missing.
The league tag girls had a loss going down 22 points to nil. Coming up against a decent Oldbar outfit our girls couldn't seem to find their groove. They will welcome the return of rep player Nat Hurrell this weekend as they look to get their season back on track.
