It is believed a group of four riders heading north on their return home from the Ulysses Australia AGM event in Wauchope on Sunday, May 28 were hit by a southbound car on a new section of the Pacific Highway at Halfway Creek.
A 62-year-old woman was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken by Westpac Rescue Helicopter to the Gold Coast University hospital. The woman may lose her right foot as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
An ambulance spokesperson said it appears two riders were struck by the car while two others swerved to avoid being hit.
Two riders who swerved to avoid being hit were treated for minor injuries at the Coffs Harbour Health Campus.
The Ulysses welfare officer was called following the accident to liaise with the riders’ local branches and to offer assistance.
