With the winter woollies coming out for the first time, so did our winter species of fish start to come out.

For the beach/rock/estuary some great catches and nice fish were brought in.

Pat McInherny weighed in tailor and bream with his biggest tailor being 1.18kg. Mick Winchester weighed in blackfish, drummer, tailor and bream, with his biggest blackfish being 0.500kg, his tailor being 1.20kg, and his bream being 0.500kg.

Dan Murphy weighed in bream with his biggest being 0.800kg. Andrew Nee weighed in a drummer to steel the show at 2kg.

The deepsea/estuary had a good outing with Terry Hollis weighing in tailor and flathead with his biggest tailor being 1.02kg and his flathead being 0.700kg. Brett Hollis weighed in flathead and tailor with his biggest tailor being 1.18kg and his flathead being 0.830kg.

The club has also had a successful year once again at competition level with us once again taking out the Hastings division champion club, as well as Hastings  freshwater champions, Hastings estuary champions, and the Hastings rock and beach champions for 2016/17.

We have also had members of our club in state championship teams which have also been successful in fresh water dam teams and currently have nine of the 12 members of the team that contested the interdivisional state rock and beach on the weekend.

With our current year coming to a close current memberships are now due and new members are also welcome.

Membership prices are as follows for 2017/2018: family $45 plus $13.50 insurance per competing adult plus $5.50 for each competing child, single adult $30 plus $13.50 insurance, single junior $15 plus $5.50 insurance.

Our next club outing is on July 7, 8 and 9 with lines down at 6pm Friday July 7 and the weigh in at 2pm July 9 at the rear BBQ area of the Wauchope  RSL Club.
