A young Wauchope woman who loves the glamour of yesteryear has got through to the finals of Pinup Doll Australia.
Crystal Hearn, known as Miss Crystal Belle placed runner-up for the best- dressed competition at the Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival 2017.
I love the fashion and the style from the Forties and Fifties.

“This placing meant I was invited to enter Pinup Doll Australia 2017 and I’m very happy,” said Crystal, who is a barista at the Village Green Coffee House in Wauchope, helps out on the family farm in Beechwood, and is vice-president of the Wauchope Show Society.
She will be one of 15 competitors from around Australia in the competition run by pinups for pinups.
“I love the fashion and the style from the Forties and Fifties. People love seeing the vintage styling come to life,” she said.
The competition takes place at the Chromefest car show on the Central Coast of NSW in October.
There are multiple sections to the competition:
- day wear
- evening wear
- a talent
- a charity to support
“Day wear and evening wear are vintage-inspired and we are scored on our outfits and stage presence,” explained Crystal.
“The talent section involves selecting a talent or activity that shows the judges who you are and what you enjoy doing.
“We have to chose a charity we would love to support, and do some fundraising for it in the months leading up to October. On the competition day we have to make a speech about our charity and why we have chosen it,” she added.
