The Hastings SES Community Driver Reviver Centre is calling for volunteers to help man their life-saving facility on the Pacific Highway.

Coordinator Gordon Toms said volunteers would only need to cover one or two shifts.
“If you would like to volunteer or you know someone who would like to do a shift or two, especially during the two remaining sessions for this year, we’d like to hear from you,” he said.
“Some volunteers use the time to catch up with friends who arrange to work on the same shift, which we think is a great idea.”
The centre will open at 7am on Friday June 30 and operate until 6pm on Sunday July 2. It’s next shift is from 7am on Friday July 7 until 6pm on Sunday July 9 and then 7am on Friday July 14 through to 6pm on Sunday July 16.
The nine days’ operation will include 19 shifts and require 170 volunteers.
“We expect many visitors to call in, take a rest, revive and continue safely on their holiday,” Mr Toms said.
“The national target is zero deaths on our roads and we will do our very best to help achieve this worthy target.”
The driver reviver centre supplies are distrubted by A&R McCormac with the delivery to the site through the national sponsor Toll Transport and supplies are provided by Bushells Tea, Bushells Coffee, Arnotts Foundation and Sunshine Sugar. Milk is supplied free of charge by Norco Milk, Mr Toms added.
