It is why, as such an integral part of the fabric of Australia, we need to ensure their continued growth through the support of our government.
It is why the Coalition is reinforcing its commitment through a third round of funding of the Stronger Communities Program.
Such was the success of the first two rounds of the Stronger Communities Program; the Coalition government has announced an additional round to facilitate a wide variety of small capital projects from the Hunter to the Hastings.
This includes upgrading facilities and new equipment for sporting clubs, community groups, men’s sheds and aged care facilities.
As a Coalition government we understand the value of increased investment in regional and rural Australia.
We understand the significant boost these grants can give to local jobs and infrastructure but also the potential and participation they can unlock within a community.
In the past week, I had the great pleasure of visiting the Kendall Men’s Shed and meeting president Peter Harper to see the amazing work it’s doing within the local community as a result of funding from our government.
From building outdoor furniture for the local primary school to providing a place where men can simply come to be among friends, the service an organisation like the Kendall Men’s Shed provides can’t be understated.
I am seeking expressions of interest from community groups for these grants and if you believe your community has a capital project in need of support then I strongly encourage you to come forward and let me know because you could be eligible for assistance from the Coalition government.
