The owner of Spike the dog, Ron Hunter has paid tribute to his friend after he sadly passed away on July 14.

Spike and Ron Hunter are famous around the Camden Haven for bringing joy to the community especially at Christmas time.
During the festive season Mr Hunter would dress as Saint Nick as he paddled on the water in his kayak with Spike who played Rudolph.
Spike was 17-years-old and Mr Hunter has owned him for 11 years. Spike’s previous owner was Mr Hunter’s brother in law.
Mr Hunter said Spike loved to go swimming while he paddled around in the kayak.
“He would help by towing me into shore,” he said.
Mr Hunter said he is going to scatter Spike’s ashes into Lake Cathie.
“I’m sure he’ll be swimming in heaven,” he said.
Mr Hunter said he and Spike loved to bring joy to children at Christmas time.
He said Spike was an excellent companion and made people around him relax.
Spike died peacefully Mr Hunter said after being in a lot of pain due to arthritis.
