This week our region welcomes more than 100 of the country’s fastest and most skilled motocross riders and their support crews who will compete in round 8 of the Australian Motocross Championships.
The championships are the leading motocross series in Australia and it’s great to team up with the Hastings Valley Motorcycle Club to bring an event of this calibre to our region.
Gates will open at 7.30am this Sunday, July 30, at the Hastings Valley Motorcycle Club’s track at Wauchope, and will see a number of champions crowned for 2017 on the day.
So if you’re looking for some fast-paced action, why not have a great day out enjoying this adrenaline rushed event that’s sure to turn on a show!

Council’s grants program opening soon
Round 1 of the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council Grants Program for 2017/2018 will open on Monday, August 7.
The grants program is designed to give local not-for-profit organisations and event managers added support to make a difference and positive contribution within our local community.
There are six grant categories open for funding: Christmas and New Year’s Events; General Community Grants; Environmental; Non-council owned hall’s; Place making, Community bands; Event sponsorships.
To be eligible, a representative from interested groups and events should attend one of four information sessions that will be will be held across the region commencing on July 31.
So, if you’re interested in gaining extra support and funding for your community based project or local event, then now’s the time to apply.
