Wauchope TG’s Child Care and Preschool have won the Greater Port Macquarie Business Awards Excellence in Business Category 2017
The TG’s family is growing. TG’s now have five child care centres, three of which are in Wauchope - on Hastings Street, High Street and Riverbreeze.
“We have grown 39% above market growth rate, from 65 to 95 educators and now supporting 468 children and 376 families every week", said Gayle Kee, General Manager of TG’s Child Care and Preschool.
Building relationships, understanding our gifts and collective thinking are the three foundation stones that helped grow TG’s confidently.

TG’s engaged a strong professional support network of experts in business coaching, HR, marketing, law and accountancy to support their growth and management.
“This has been an amazing revelation. You don’t play sport without a coach, why would you do business without one? Wish we’d learnt this lesson decades ago,” said Ms Kee.
Some of the initiatives highlighted in TG’s growth strategic framework were to build brand confidence by achieving people excellence, increasing community engagements and gaining mind share; build market share by expanding their footprint and services and achieve operational and service delivery excellence.
“Winning the Greater Port Macquarie Excellence in Business award and two other awards (Excellence in Business and Employer of Choice) at the Armidale Business Awards this year, are testaments to how we include parents, educators, children and the community as part of the TG’s Family," said Gayle.
“Everything we have achieved is based on the TG’s Way where building relationships, understanding our gifts and collective thinking are the three foundation stones that helped grow TG’s confidently.”
TG’s says it takes fun seriously. The first thing you would notice about TG’s is the award-winning outdoor playscape, recognised Australia-wide, and featured in Early Childhood Australia magazines.
TG's natural playgrounds and children's gardens have been carefully designed and constructed by Trevor Kee, Architect for Outdoor Learning.
They provide stimulating areas where each child has their own unique challenges to assist their social, emotional, cognitive, creative, passive and active development.
"Having fun and learning go hand in hand. This is where playing is learning for Life”, says Trevor.
Every child is different so TG's focuses on what each child knows, can do and understand. Their learnings are extended and supported through positive interactions with their peers and educators.
"We would like to say thank you to all our educators for their fantastic contribution to the growth in the standards of TG's child care services and their personal growth and development within the TG's organisation.
Whilst these awards are graciously accepted - the greatest reward for us is watching the smiles and happy faces of the children in our care each day.
Be proud - take a bow - because Playing is Learning for Life!", said Gayle and Trevor Kee when addressing the 95 educators in the TG's Family.
