A coup for the Port Macquarie region, more than 40 teams from across the state including Rural Fire Service crews from Victoria will this weekend compete for a place at the national titles in New Zealand.
Port Macquarie’s Fire and Rescue NSW squadron will field a record four teams – a first for the competition in more than two decades.
Members of the public are invited to watch the Firefighter Championships at Westport Park with events kicking off at 8am each day.
There will be fire trucks and HAZMAT vehicles to inspect, fire safety information stalls, food, entertainment and firefighters on hand to ask questions.
