Kim Drysdale and Andrew Welsh have been pushing their bodies through two weight training sessions every day for 12 months in preparation, plus following a very structured eating plan.
Kim has been interested in fitness and training at Wauchope Fitness Centre for the past three years and became a personal trainer in 2016.
Her current trainer/coach and friend, Jodie Wallace encouraged her to work towards the physique modelling last year.
“Jodie told me one day while I was training at lunch time about bikini modelling and what was involved,” said Kim.
“I left that day and went online that night to do some research on what she had said then sent her a message saying ‘I want to give this a try.’”
Since that day, the two have worked together on building Kim’s physique with a daily training and eating plan.
‘Food is such a large part of this type of training,” said Jodie.
“Kim has been on a calorie controlled eating plan that is tailored for her body. It has taken us a few trials to find foods that suited Kim’s body but the development in her physique in 12 months has been amazing.
“A well planned training guide along with the right food plan and her dedication to both her food and training has created some great results for Kim,” added Jodie, who is part-owner, personal trainer and nutrition coach at Wauchope Fitness Centre.
Andrew Welsh, the other part owner of Wauchope Fitness Centre is the second person entering the competition representing the centre.
Andrew started out as a crossfit lover but always showed an interest in bodybuilding. He set himself the goal of getting on stage a little under 12 months ago.
Andrew, also under the watchful eye of coach Jodie, has committed to heavy training sessions twice daily, plus a well monitored eating plan for the past year.
This last two weeks leading up to the competition will see them both push their bodies to new limits to try and bring the best muscle-defined physiques that they can to the stage.
