Grandparents went back to school at St Joseph’s Primary in Wauchope to see their little darlings perform, and do some shared reading with them.
There was a special liturgy on Monday September 11 and then the children performed a poem which they will recite at the Eisteddfod in the Glasshouse this month.
103-year-old Myra Benson, who’s a great-grandmother to Toby and Henry Warren, was there with her daughter Lorraine Warren and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
“I think it’s a fabulous idea,” said Lorraine.
“It is great to see the school involving the grandparents,” she added.
Jacky Langhorne was there to see her grandkids, Meisha and Tilly Mabey.
“It’s a wonderful thing for the grandparents. It makes us very special,” she said.
Margaret Kennedy’s grandchildren, Madison and Ben Hartas are pupils at St Joseph’s.
“I think it’s amazing. The school have gone to so much trouble to make us feel welcome and we certainly do,” she said.
The visitors had morning tea and then lunch and the sun shone on a very special day.
