As a Coalition Government, we understand the need for affordable and reliable energy and that’s why we’ve introduced important measures which will save families and small business hundreds of dollars on the energy bill.
After recalling the energy retailers to Canberra, we were able to secure agreements from them to inform customers that lower costs are available.
We’ve also established the Government website Energy Made Easy, which allows people to compare their offer for electricity to other better offers that are available and to the market.
With other actions like the Snowy Hydro upgrade, which will deliver more affordability and reliability, it will ensure households and businesses won’t have to pay a cent more than they have to for their electricity.
In a bid to combat the rising prevalence of severe health and social problems as a result of drug use, the Coalition Government will be trialling a cashless debit card.
Trial sites have been selected around the country where we will seek to identify and help people with drug issues that are preventing them from securing or holding down a job.
Our government is committed to helping all Australians secure meaningful employment, and for many people drug use is a serious barrier.
Should the trials prove successful the Government will look to broaden the innovative action to include local areas.
