Football Mid North Coast chairman Mike Parsons is excited at the prospect of a 12-hour football feast which starts at 10.15am with the under-12 zone championships.
The day concludes at 7.30pm under lights with the first grade grand final between Port United and defending premiers Wallis Lake.
“It will be a replay of the game I refereed between the same sides a few years ago,” he said.
But it was the earlier games which Parsons was looking forward to as much as the seniors later in the day.
“We’ve tried this in the past and it hasn’t been as successful,” he said.
“But the most gratifying part about this Saturday is that we are putting our junior players on the big stage at Port Regional Stadium.
“I know for a fact they are all very excited.”
Parsons expects more than 3000 people to attend throughout the day, although he acknowledged some may not stay from when the gates open until fulltime in first grade.
He said the main expectation from FMNC was that “everybody enjoys the day and just has fun.”
The winner of the day’s zone championships progress to the state championships next year.
Tickets are $5 for adults and under-16s are free.
