An update went to the council’s September meeting in response to a question from Cr Justin Levido.
The council report said the director infrastructure role was first advertised in May 2017 with interviews taking place in early June 2017.
“An offer was made to one of the candidates, but that offer fell through when the candidate decided to remain in their current position,” the report said.
The role was re-advertised.
The infrastructure director role became vacant after the council adopted a revised organisational structure.
The infrastructure division covers infrastructure delivery, the transport and stormwater network, and water and sewer.
It is one of four divisions within the council.
