Wauchope Bonny Hills Surf Life Saving Club will be supplying voluntary patrols on weekends and public holidays from September 23 until April 29 2018.
Port Macquarie Hastings Council contracted lifeguards will be patrolling during the weekdays for that period.
Last season, WBHSLSC’s 128 volunteers – sponsored by First National North Haven Real Estate -patrolled for 3,981 hours to keep beachgoers safe on Rainbow Beach.
“We were pleased that there were no deaths and only eight rescues,” said Phil Kaufmann from Wauchope Bonny Hills SLSC.
“Our patrols will work during school holidays and will be out between 9am and 4pm and over Christmas from 9am to 5pm.
“Remember – be smart – stay safe and swim between the flags. Help us to keep everyone safe.”
