It will be the last chance for you to explore the multi-award-winning “Girraween Gardens”, winner of the Sun Herald Garden Competition, as Phyllis Fisher is retiring her garden after this year’s event.
With six gardens in Comboyne township and ten out of town gardens, you might have trouble fitting them all into the day, so your program, giving a brief description of each garden, will be useful in planning your agenda.
From delightful and quirky suburban gardens to expansive and inspiring farm gardens, you will see low maintenance, rainforest inspired and formal layouts, with natives and exotics and unique garden ornaments.
So much variety and such lovely people to talk to!
Devonshire teas will be available at one out of town garden, while the Community Centre will have packs of freshly-made sandwiches and bottled water to carry you through.
Comboyne is just half an hour’s easy drive on a good bitumen road from Wauchope, and you will find a new perspective from this beautiful volcanic plateau.
For a complete change of pace – a pleasant and relaxing day in the country on the scenic Comboyne Plateau – come and enjoy the Comboyne Garden Walk on Sunday October 15.
