Staff were delighted when a bunch of volunteers from the Commonwealth Bank came and painted the outside of the building, and they had an afternoon tea recently to say thank you.
Regina Evans from Wauchope Neighbourhood Centre said the bank approached the centre to do some community service.
“We had a discussion and they offered to paint our centre because it was all flaky and horrible,” she said.
Regina rang Terry Madden from Bristol Paints in Port Macquarie to ask for a discount and he ended up donating paint, brushes and rollers.
The volunteers made quick work of their task, completing it in five hours.
“They worked really hard painting the building and we are very happy with the result,” said Regina, who organised an afternoon tea to thank them.
