Lions provides funds to the Cancer Foundation, which collects and stores blood from the umbilical cords of newborns. When processed, the stem cells from the cord blood help children with leukemia.
Every September, Lions Clubs sell tickets in their unique grocery grab raffle.
The prize is a dash through a participating grocery store to collect as many selected items as you can in three minutes, or for those who are not up to the task, there is a $300 grocery voucher.
The Wauchope Lions Club combined with the Hastings Co-op IGA store for the raffle.
The lucky winner was Mrs Fay Shirtliff and her ticket was drawn by Georgia Malcolm.
Wauchope Lions thanks all those people who supported this great community fundraiser by buying a ticket.
