She was a special guest at the Parkes Country Music Festival where she won Best Female Performer in 1979. Almost 40 years later, she was back there, presenting awards to some of the top artists.
Marcia was one of the founding members of the Hastings Country Music Association. Back in 1975, when a group of Wauchope residents decided it would be nice to have a country music club, they had no idea that 40 years later, it would still be going strong and raised $143,000 for charities.
.
Marcia is still heavily involved today and has an extensive collection of Hastings Country Music Association memorabilia.
The association has been a big part of her life, and she has held every office in the group except secretary.
Her daughter and granddaughter have also followed in her footsteps.
Charities to benefit from the HCMA's generosity over the past 40 years include Wauchope Hospital, Westpac Rescue Helicopter, Cancer Council and Port Macquarie Hospital.
Marcia is rightly proud of winning Best Female Performer at the Parkes event, and the same award at Dubbo in 1980 and 1981. She’s being going to the Tamworth Country Music Festival since 1976 and hasn't missed a year.
She is also a popular presenter on our local community radio station, 2WayFM.
