City will clash with Melbourne Victory from 5.20pm at AAMI Park as they look to bounce back from last week’s 4-1 defeat in Perth.
Dobson was an unused substitute for the trip west and is expected to again feature in coach Patrick Kisnorbo’s plans.
While Dobson didn’t play a role in last week’s three-goal defeat, she will hope to have better luck for the round two encounter.
The reigning champions dominated possession and created a gluttony of chances throughout the contest last weekend.
But they were thwarted by a combination of errant finishing and superb goalkeeping from Perth stopper Melissa Maizels.
Should the 25-year-old get on the park on Friday night, she will hope to make an impression.
The match kicks off at 5.20pm.
