He teamed up with firefighters from Fire and Rescue Wauchope, and the RFS, and they put the sirens on from 2pm on Saturday, and drove all around the town to do the annual lolly run.
Deputy Mark Platts says it’s a great tradition which has been going on for years, and he praised the volunteer firies who helped make it happen. He said they get a lot of support from the community.
“. It’s a bit of magic for the children during the Christmas holidays,” he said.
Children stood in the street waiting patiently as the specially decorated fire trucks passed, and Santa gave out lollies and shook hands.
Fire and Rescue NSW Wauchope had two of their main trucks, plus an old vintage Bedford, each with a Santa on board, giving out sweet treats all around the streets of our town.
Because Wauchope is getting bigger, the Rural Fire Service came on board again this year, to lend a hand with areas like Riverbreeze.
