It is 60 years since legendary Under 18 coach Austy White won the club's first Group 3 premiership.
White went on to coach 18 successive seasons, during which time he produced eight premiership teams.
Members of the 1955 premiership team are getting together from 12 noon on December 9 to honour their old coach.
It is expected that 10 members of the group, together with partners and others associated with the team and White, will be in attendance.
The surviving players include Ted Monkley (captain), Tom Welsh, Pat Monaghan, Don Marchment, Warren Kimberley, Bob Laws, Bob Hagerty, George Fowler, Bill Marchment, Manning Foster, Speed Jones and Jim Brabant.
The ball boy was Ian Bain and Alan Ninness was White's successor.
Three members are deceased, Ross Andrews, Keith Bannerman and Don Monkley. In a clipping regarding the side's grand final victory against Smithtown (Hastings Shire Gazette on September 15, 1955) it was reported that "the under 18s.... attributed most of their good fortune to their trainer, Austy White".
"Their once-beaten record is certainly one to lie proud of. The winning score for Wauchope , 13-9, was only a try and a goal away from defeat."
Scorers for Wauchope were M Foster (try), G Fowler (try), R Haggerty (try) and D Marchment (two goals). Any member of the Blues Old Boys who would like to renew contact with these ex-players are welcome to attend the luncheon.
