The stall has a reputation west of the Pacific Highway as a regular marketplace for fresh produce, homemade jams, bric-a-brac, knitwear and handicrafts – all at bargain prices.
The volunteers’ president Roger Adams, who recently received an OAM for services to the community, said the stall would return by popular demand to the Lake Innes Shopping Centre.
“We receive a warm welcome and plenty of support for our biannual stall at Lake Innes,” Mr Rogers said.
“Every cent raised at our stalls goes towards the purchase of equipment or improving patient amenity at Wauchope Hospital, which cares for day surgery, rehabilitation and palliative care patients from throughout the Hastings, the Macleay and the Camden Haven.
“As the hospital cares for people from beyond Wauchope, we thought Port Macquarie residents would like the opportunity to help support it.
“And we were right. Our first three stalls at Lake Innes received overwhelming support from shoppers.
“People are very generous when they know they are assisting worthwhile fundraisers, and they also know there is the added bonus of some great bargains on offer.”
The Wauchope Hospital Volunteers Stall will be at Lake Innes Shopping Centre from 8.30am.
