The Port Macquarie man, who is in the process of writing his third book, has visited about 50 countries.
Mr Pearson, born in Yorkshire, started a small import business after moving to Australia.
“I’ve had a fabulous life,” he said.
Mr Pearson’s books include a book told through the eyes of his canine mate, Jennifer.
The book, titled My Name is Jennifer and this is my story, covers the chihuahua’s lifespan and also takes into account other dogs.
Almost an Ordinary Life chronicles Mr Pearson’s life up to his 21st year.
He served in the Royal Air Force in Egypt, Palestine and Cyprus.
He had an “absolute fascination” in Egyptology and spent time exploring the pyramids, which date back to a time when Egypt was among the richest and most powerful civilizations in the world.
Mr Pearson is in the process of writing a book about his life from the age of 21 onward.
“I don’t like writing fiction but I like writing the truth about things,” Mr Pearson said.
His writing talent is not limited to books.
Mr Pearson writes poetry too, inspired by nature, animals and the world around him.
