It’s that time of year again – Wauchope Show time.
The gates will open tomorrow Friday April 21 at 8am at the Wauchope Showground when the 107th show begins.
It runs until Saturday evening, April 22.
Highlights on Friday include the camp draft, the demolition derby and the biggest-ever fireworks display.
Saturday will see the Grand Parade and the new Showgirl announced, hay baling demo, the woodchop, and junior farmers fun activities.
Highlights include the smash-up derby, fireworks, bull ride, farmers challenge and camp draft. There are horse events, cattle, goat and poultry judging plus and much, much more.
Show society president Neil Coombes says things are shaping up really well and they’re looking forward to a great two days.
“The Showground is looking fantastic. There’s a new PA system, and a new bar, and the excitement is building,” he said.
Walker Coull, supervisor of Work for the Dole says he and his team have done the hard yards at the Showground, helping put up the PA system, getting roads, drainage, signs, maintenance and fences ready.
“We put in the new bar and a new cattle ring. We’ve been here since November 17, doing all the donkey work,” he said.
Admission: Adult $15, Child U16/Aged Pensioner $7, Group of two adults and three children $30.
