The local musical concert is part of Mr Gugnin’s National Recital Tour. He will tour six Australian states and territories offering performances at some 32 venues.
Gugnin is from Russia and in the 2016 Sydney International Piano Competition of Australia he took out four prizes in addition to his overall first placing.
Since his stunning Sydney win he has been in high demand around the world as a soloist, chamber musician and festival artist.
He is eager to perform for Australian audiences.
“Australia has provided many pinnacle moments for me and my career,” Mr Gugnin said.
“It’s a pleasure having the opportunity to work with the Sydney International Piano Competition again and to play for audiences across this beautiful country over two months.”

- Schubert Piano Sonata No.17 in D Major D.850
- Shostakovich Piano Sonata No.1 Op.12
- Desyatnikov "Reminiscences of the Theatre" (1985)
- Michael Kieran Harvey 48 Fugues for Frank Zappa No.6: G-Spot Tornado (2009)
- Stravinsky Trois Mouvements de Pétrouchka
The National Recital Series is part of the Sydney International Piano Competition’s celebration of 40 years in 2017.
The series showcases some of the competition’s most highly regarded artists as they travel around the country.
Tickets to Mr Gugnin’s Kendall recital at the Kendall School of Arts Hall on Sunday, July 16 are $35 for adults and $20 for those under 18-years-old.
