Paige is a member of the Australian national team and plays in the ANZ Championship for the NSW Swifts. Her 2013 season with them was capped off with winning the first NSW Swifts Coaches' Award.
Continuing an incredible year in 2013, Paige was named in her first Australian Diamonds side, and more awards followed. But in 2014, she ruptured her cruciate ligament at training and was ruled out of the rest of the 2014 season.
However Paige made a successful comeback from the injury and was a 2015 Australian Diamond World Cup team Gold Medallist.
“Determination is a massive word for me,” said Paige, as she told the audience about her injury, her surgery, and being out of the game she loves for a year.
“Determination is about how active you are, how much you love your sport. I love sport, and I love netball.
“It’s a lot of hard work. You don’t have to be good at sport to enjoy it. You can always get better,” she said.
She urged the kids in Wauchope to do 30 minutes of exercise every day, eat two pieces of fruit and five servings of vegetables.
And the best thing about sport?
“The friendships I’ve made,” she said with a smile.
