Those who live in the Benaroon Drive residential precinct have received a letter from company All About Planning asking for their input for a social impact assessment.
The social impact assessment will be submitted with a development application to the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council.
The site is south of the Kendall Showground and opposite the existing entrance to Benaroon Drive from Batar Creek Road.
The letter outlines the proposal of a new lifestyle estate with the establishment of a 283 site manufactured home estate at 79 Batar Creek Road, Kendall.
The Laurieton Residential Resort at Lakewood is an existing manufactured home estate development.
Resident Milly Jones received the letter and said the development is not suitable for the area.
Milly said the infrastructure at Kendall is not designed to accommodate the amount of people who would live at the site.
“It is a country town with a small number of shops and there is only one road which leads in and out of it,” she said.
Elizabeth Woods lives on Benaroon Drive she is concerned that not many people in the area are aware of the development.
Elizabeth has lived in the area for 15 months and said she has only just become aware of the plans.
The letter outlines a number of community facilities are proposed to form part of the development including a large community clubhouse with gymnasium, snooker room and theatrette. There will also be a pool, bowling green and tennis court.
Residents were asked to fill out a questionnaire which was attached with the letter and to provide feedback through the post or by emailing allaboutplanningpl@gmail.com
Feedback is requested to be submitted by Tuesday, August 15.
The Camden Haven Courier has contacted All About Planning for comment.
