There were almost 700 entries for the two day event.
Port Macquarie Hastings Kennel and Obedience Club hosts the trials and treasurer Betty Lambert said several high standard handlers were participating.
“It’s been going really well so far. We’ve had perfect weather. The standard has been pretty high,” she said.
People came from as far away as Canberra and Queensland. One of the judges is from South Australia and the other two are from Sydney.
“They’ve enjoyed it so far. Charlie Watt Oval at Telegraph Point is a great venue,” said Ms Lambert.
“The atmosphere has been good. People have been great at helping out setting up the courses. We’re very happy with the way everything has gone,” she added.
The dog trials continue on Sunday August 13 from 8am until 3pm.
