The Hastings River Orchid Society will be staging their 36th Spring Show in the Wauchope RSL Club on Sunday, October 8, with doors open at 10am till 3.30pm. Entry is a gold coin donation.

“There will be many different orchids on display all looking to please you with colour, shape and fragrance so come along and indulge yourself in the wonderful world of orchids,” said Greg Elliott from the Society.
Also there will be a grand collection on the show bench of Bromeliads and special foliage plants, this section of the show has been expanded to introduce the novice grower the totally diverse amount of foliage plants there is.
“We will also have John Riley a renowned Botanical Artist who specialises in Australian Native Orchids using watercolour pencils he creates an exact replica of the orchid in many aspects on paper for all to admire.
“He will be on hand to talk to you so if you are thinking of becoming a Botanical Artist this is the time for you to come along and have a talk to John,” said Mr Elliott.
Also, the club will have members on hand to help you grow and enjoy your plants.
So if you have problems growing your orchid or foliage plants come along and get some advice which will make you a better grower.
There will be a giant sales table with many plants for you to start your collection, all lovingly grown and nurtured to get them to flower for you.
