Vandals have damaged the If We All Had Wings cancer awareness artwork in Wauchope.
They’ve broken part of the children’s set of wings at the side of the Hastings Co-op in Bransdon Street where kids and adults get their photos taken.
Cancer survivor Skye Petho said she was really disappointed by the vandalism.
Whoever did this is being disrespectful towards people with cancer and towards the community in Wauchope.

“I paid an artist to create that work. It is there to raise awareness of something that is a sad situation – people struggling financially when they have cancer. For the artist, this is heartbreaking.
“Whoever did this is being disrespectful towards people with cancer and towards the community in Wauchope.” she said.
A spokesman for Hastings Co-op said they too were very disappointed in the vandalism.
“We are hoping to work with Skye to replace the artwork,” he said.
Wauchope people who came to take photos with children at the artwork have expressed their outrage at the vandalism on Facebook.
And the community have been disgusted by vandals smashing a mosaic bench at the Wauchope community arts hall beside Bain Park last week. The bench had been made by people with disabilities.
