Their open representative team was named as the best senior team in the region, with team captain Shannon Noble saying it was a nice surprise.
“There was a large squad of girls who played a part in getting us where we went (including a wildcard into state),” she said.
“You couldn’t have had a better team of talent and experience, and everyone involved played a part in getting the results that we did.
“I was absolutely honoured for a number of reasons to accept the award.”
Noble said it was as much about the team as it was the association involved and the work that goes on behind the scenes.
“Our coach, our manager, the Hastings Valley executive … it was an honour to accept and the award was really for everyone who has been involved,” she said.
