Emergency services were called to the Camden Haven River, at North Haven, at about 1.45pm (Sunday December 3) after a boat capsized while returning from sea.
Two men were rescued from the water, but a third man could not be found and a search began, involving the emergency services and volunteers.
Lifeguards and patrolling members from Camden Haven Surf Life Saving Club were quickly on the scene.
The body of a 59-year-old man was found in the river a short time later.
Local police, together with the Marine Area Command, are investigating the incident.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
