An existing timber culvert structure on Lorne Road, approximately 300m south of Playfords Road in Comboyne has recently been damaged in by wet weather.

To ensure that this vital road link to Comboyne remains safe and serviceable, the existing timber culvert will be demolished and replaced with a concrete pipe culvert structure and road embankment, with carriageway width also being restored.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council says these works are deemed urgent and necessary as further wet weather may cause permanent damage to the road embankment and result in a full collapse.
Lorne Road will be fully closed, with no through access available in either direction during the period from Monday December 10 to Friday December 22 inclusive, weather permitting.
The closest available detour is through Wauchope, and road users are being asked to add significant travel time.
