The action gets underway at 9am. WBHSLSC boat captain, Wayne Dickson, said he was proud of the host club’s efforts so far this season.
“We have three crews in – A grade and reserve grade men, and under 19 girl row in A grade women’s. They’re going terrific,” he said.
“In the last even they finished third in the open women division, which was fantastic for them. Our reserve grade men are leading their division by a lot of points. They haven’t been beaten all year.”
The bigger clubs – Woolgoolga and Kempsey/Crescent Head – tend to cover every division and have a lot more people rowing. They’re well out in front for the club championships.
“But we’re going along really well. We’re looking forward to hosting it this weekend at our home beach,” he said.
