The Country Superstars Tribute Show at the Wauchope RSL on Saturday March 3 is a salute to the most talented performers ever to grace the country stage.
It includes the biggest hits from Alan Jackson, Johnny Cash, Shania Twain, Brookes and Dunn, Dolly Parton and Glen Campbell. Organisers say it’s a real dance-along, sing along concert that appeals to all ages.
The evening is hosted by the award-winning Superstars Band which includes Australian champion banjo player Rory Peters and invitees to Nashville's legendary Bluebird Cafe and the South by Southwest Festival in Texas. It is now Australia's No.1 touring country variety tribute show.
Steve Taylor, who performs as Johnny Cash, Alan Jackson and Glen Campbell is really looking forward to the gig.
“I’m a big fan of all three. Johnny Cash, Alan Jackson and Glen Campbell are big name artists. When we were looking to put a show together, we wanted singers who are very popular,” he said.
“Everybody loves Glen Campbell and all those old songs. This is a tribute in the true sense of the word. Putting the show together, we had an almost overwhelming amount of great material to choose from.
“We also pay tribute to Linda Ronstadt and as a new addition to the show for 2018, we salute Dwight Yoakum. The show covers fifty years of the best of the best, from Folsom Prison to Chattahoochie, Dolly to Shania – they all get a look-in.”
The show features state of the art sound and lighting, costume changes and hit after hit including Man, I Feel Like a Woman, Islands in the Stream, Rhinestone Cowboy and surprise guest appearances.
The Country Superstars Tribute Show also includes several well- known bluegrass instrumental numbers which they are always a crowd favourite.
Steve says if you’re a big fan of country music, then this a must see show, with terrific music, topnotch production values, engaging performers and plenty of upbeat, chart topping songs.
A new addition to the show is popular local entertainer Andrew Best, who now performs as Dwight Yoakum.
The Country Superstars Tribute Show will appear at Wauchope RSL on Saturday March 3. Tickets cost $25 and are available from the club reception or phone 6585 2244. The show starts at 8pm.
